The Kuranda dog bed is an excellent choice for the Shar Pei because it is very easily cleaned. You might also like to add the slip cover or a fleece pad which are both machine washable. The Shar Pei was originally bred in ancient China to guard and protect the royal family, and almost went extinct until the late 70’s when LIFE magazine published an article about them. Since then interest in the Shar Pei has exploded and due to rushed breeding, Shar Pei suffer from a number of health issues, one of the most prominent being skin rashes which is why it is imperative to keep these dogs regularly groomed and cleaned. The Ballistic Nylon fabric is very easy to clean and would be perfect to support these big dogs.
